“The sun does not realize how wonderful it is until after a room is made.” – Louis Kahn

Meet the Team | Sanaz

Nature, culture, and music are what inspire Sanaz Labafzadeh, whether she is sketching a building, making a platinum print of her photography, or mastering another instrument. Her path into architectural design was not direct, yet Sanaz wouldn’t trade it for anything, as it has molded her into a designer with a distinctive perspective.

Sanaz’s love of art and design drew her into studying and teaching fine arts at Salisbury University in Maryland. When Sanaz moved on to fine arts instruction at Temple University, she soon found herself interacting with the architecture department, ultimately enrolling in the program and earning her Master of Architecture.

“I’ll find a solution for any design problem. That’s a promise. I’ll find a way because that’s the structure of my brain from my foundation as an engineer.”

Viewing her role as a public servant, Sanaz approaches each architectural engagement with the goal of creating spaces where users are happy and comfortable. She listens and guides clients to solutions that honor the environment, culture, and distinct characteristics of the place.

“Less is more and God is in the details.”

In her personal time, Sanaz continues to create and draw inspiration from her surroundings. You may find her sitting by the lake taking in the movement of the clouds, composing music, or taking photos with a view camera and developing the images through the historical platinum printing process.
