Project Description:

The Squaxin Island Tribe’s Little Creek Casino Resort asked KMB architects for assistance in expanding their existing Oyster Bar into the more formal adjacent Island Grille Restaurant.  KMB architects took the opportunity to revitalize and upgrade the finishes and entrance experience in both restaurants.  The popular copper topped Oyster bar is now larger with more bar seating, better kitchen equipment, and better bar service.  A fun sliding door system was installed between the two venues, so they could be separated or combined into one space, depending on need.  The Island Grille was extensively reworked by rearranging some walls for more seating, adding stone and Mediterranean tile finishes to the walls, art and selective lighting, and a hostess station with a cut metal Mediterranean style grille.  A large glass door with perimeter accent lighting was used to entice customers from the walkway into the Island Grille. The ceiling was also revised from an industrial look to a finished ceiling with acoustical panels that form wave patterns and more attractive lighting.
