Location: Olympia, WA
Square Feet: 65,354 SF
Project Description:
The current City of Olympia Municipal Court and Jail facility is beyond its useful life and needs to be reconstructed to meet the current and future needs of the growing Olympia community. The feasibility study considered the programming needs, construction, cost estimate, and schedule in order to build a new Justice Center. The proposed campus would feature two Municipal Courtrooms, one Community Courtroom, a 74-bed municipal jail, and support spaces for all departments. Based on the site’s proximity to the Japanese Garden and Plum Street Tiny House Village, thoughtful considerations were part of the master plan and design process to ensure solutions did not impact these existing spaces.
