Project Description:
Hoquiam School District has identified an urgent need to replace aging educational facilities located in high-risk seismic and tsunami zones. KMB is currently in the process of designing and developing a single campus on an elevated site for both the new elementary school and a new combined middle and high school. The high school will serve grades 7-12 and feature two stories and dedicated gymnasiums for the middle school and the high school. There will be four shared learning areas for group instruction or one-on-one instruction along with 47 classrooms. The middle school and high school will share a 500-person theater and a set of social stairs that will serve as a place for students to gather.
