Project Description:
The City of Lynnwood determined the need for a new Criminal Justice Center based on a 30-year assessment identifying key spaces and relevant square footage. The existing jail was demolished to use the available site area for a more efficient jail and three-story Police Department tower. KMB partnered with Mackenzie in supporting overall design, and was responsible for programming, planning, and design efforts for the Municipal Court and Jail. The municipal courts were renovated within the existing police building to create a modern space with efficient circulation and transport from the new jail. The Community Justice Center features a police department, evidence storage, a 2-bay, garage, and more.
