“You’ve heard of the ‘golden rule’, which is ‘treat others the way you would like to be treated.’ From a client services perspective, I believe in the ‘platinum rule,’ which is ‘treat others the way they want to be treated.”

“For me, personally, life is measured in significance. Significance over success. I see significance at KMB architects as building a place where each individual is valued, where collectively we can achieve something great.”

What does it mean to be a leader? How do you build culture? These are questions Tony has spent his career striving to answer. Whether heading a division of 150 employees, sitting on the board of vital community organizations, or contributing to the partner group at KMB architects, Tony is always looking to motivate and inspire. His approach is embodied in the philosophy of servant leadership, where the needs of employees and clients always come first, and whereby building relationships, organizations can meaningfully engage with project teams, attract top talent, and truly flourish.

Tony relies on clear communication and a positive mindset to drive teams, clearly defining roles and responsibilities, and allowing for creative problem solving. He believes in getting the right person, with the right skillset, in the right place, with the right tools in order to maximize their talent and the value they bring to the organization. Tony’s goal is to build an operation where both clients and employees alike are knocking down the door for the opportunity to work with KMB.

Born and raised in Tacoma, Tony is proud to live and work in the South Sound where he serves on several boards and community organizations. He has a diverse group of mentors who have supported him throughout his career, and he’s passionate about giving back and lending perspective when it can help others. Tony spends his free time in the company of his large extended family and best friends, always making room for the occasional round of golf.
