Creativity and problem solving are two of the most critical components of architectural design. This is what drew Sara Rickards to the practice. Growing up, Sara spent summers hanging around her uncles architecture office in southern California, following the architects around and developing a passion for design.
Sara was drawn to the practicality and structure of the architectural process, inspired by the opportunity to create something that improves the lives of the buildings users. Working with the project team and finding creative means to meet their needs balances creativity with practicality.
Sara is licensed to practice Architecture in the State of Washington. Sara’s project portfolio includes a variety of projects ranging from residential design and tenant improvements to multi-story hospital expansions. Sara found a passion in working on healthcare projects - to create comfortable environments for patients to receive critical care. She finds the details of healthcare design especially rewarding, finding ways to integrate stakeholders needs in thoughtful ways.
She takes a communicative, team-based approach to her projects. We are excited for the impact that Sara’s Take on design will bring to KMB architects projects in the future.
Sara is the proud mother of two humans and a rescue pup. In her spare time, she enjoys refinishing furniture, running when the “running bug bites” and drinking white wine.
