KMB architects is seeking to add Project Architects/Designers to work interactively with other design professionals, clients, and the public in a supportive team environment on a broad range of projects. This position will be filled by an individual who is a skilled communicator, great designer, capable technician, proven leader and problem solver.

Job Type:
40 hours/week during summer break

Pay:
$72,000 - $95,000 per year

Physical Setting:
Office (Staff have the ability to work from home (remotely) or come into one of our offices. All staff are required to be available to meet with clients or come into the office for a meeting.)

Schedule:
Monday to Friday

Education:
Enrollment in or graduation from a NAAB-accredited architecture program (B.Arch or M.Arch)

KMB architects is seeking a Project Architect/Designer to work independently or in a team. Your duties may include (but will not limited to): Project production work, use of your Revit and other computing application skills, design tasks, writing support assignments to include studies, reports, meeting agenda and notes, specifications, schedules, research, cost estimating, and project closeout documentation and support.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with clients to determine initial goals and requirements for the space to be designed.

  • Collaborate with architects, designers, engineers, consultants, and contractors involved in the project.

  • Prepares sketches or other visual aids to demonstrate preliminary designs to client.

  • Consults with project team and client in programming of spaces.

  • Create construction drawings; plans, elevations, details, schedules, and specifications.

  • Maintains current knowledge of trends, techniques, and other developments in architecture.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

  • Ability to work both independently and effectively in association with a team of individuals

  • Passion for design

  • Strong verbal, writing and graphic presentation skills

  • Experience:

    • Revit: 4 years (Preferred)

    • AutoCAD: 4 years (Preferred)

    • Architecture: 7 years (Preferred)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Multi-tasking – Ability to coordinate, manage, and complete two or more tasks simultaneously while maintaining the required quality and quantity levels.

  • Develops (learning) – Actively seeks out new knowledge and information to improve skills and competence in self and others.

  • Thinking Creatively – Apply new ideas and thoughts to challenging situations.

  • Solving Problems – Accurately analyzes situations and implements effective processes and solutions.

  • Drive for Results – Sets high standards for self and others and consistently achieves results.

  • Proficient in Revit and other computer-aided design (CAD) software.
