“It’s in my DNA to be a caregiver, and I thought I’d go into the medical field. Instead, the A/E/C industry chose me through a temporary position at an engineering firm, and I’ve been at it ever since. It’s a good fit for my skills and it’s rewarding.”
Meet the Team | Andreia
For Andreia Brown, making a difference for clients and teammates is the ultimate in job satisfaction. She accomplishes this by deploying her skills to become a resource for information and a guide that is able to lead the team to success She takes great pride in the effective working relationships that she’s built, which have led to an evolving role at KMB architects, where she’s taken on greater responsibility to support all of our studios with contract and project administration, in addition to her role as an assistant project manager and owner’s representative in our education management studio.
Andreia juggles her multifaceted role by staying organized and focused, and discerning the urgent from the important. When she kicks off a new project as an owner’s representative, she takes the time to listen and observe so she can effectively adapt to her clients’ needs.
“Clients don’t necessarily have all the processes, so I’ve learned to appreciate that. I know what they are — they’re experts in their respective field but not typically experts in design and construction. I like being able to answer questions, even after the job is finished. I enjoy that I’ve become a resource for our clients, and knowing that in my own way, I’m making a difference on their projects.”
Andreia applies this same level of care when supporting her teammates at KMB architects, who she also likes to treat as valued clients. In fact, Andreia cites making people happy as her favorite part of her job. She appreciates the flexibility she has in her role, and the support the partners provide in utilizing all her talents to benefit the firm.
Outside of work, Andreia loves spending time with family and her beloved cats and finds therapy in painting and growing her backyard oasis, which serves as respite for transient critters and those keen on sticking around. Squirrels, anyone?
